For Madeleine, art was always part of life. Her mother, a natural with a paintbrush, nurtured Madeleine’s creativity. These artistic childhood days led to a few high school art classes and a job as a graphic designer upon Ole Miss graduation. But it wasn’t until her husband was deployed for a year that Madeleine found her comfort and joy in oil painting—and knew this was going to be her career.
Madeleine now paints full time from her home studio in Oxford, Mississippi. Her work centers on the comforts she finds in the slow but beautiful life as a Southerner.
The entire Bridges collection tells a story of mornings with man's best friend, tranquil afternoons under oak trees, and festive evenings gathered around a table with others. To Madeleine, each painting is a reminder of what so many of us hold dear: the beauty of the place you call home.
