I am a full-time working mixed media artist who lives in Atlanta, Georgia. I have been creating art since I was a child: the granddaughter of a portrait painter, I have always been inspired by a creative energy. My use of color is both peaceful and playful - creating compositions that are soothing and light in nature. I am inspired by the everyday moments and scenery that surround me. Whether the majestic skyline of my hometown or the simplicity of a simple still life - there is beauty in it all.
I studied Marketing at UGA while secretly wishing I were an Art major. Fast forward through several years in the marketing profession, and I returned to my artistic roots, pursuing post-grad art classes while balancing raising a family. In, 2019, I reclaimed my first love and am now a full-time working artist at the Urban Arts Collective in Chamblee, GA.
I am inspired by color, patterns and mark making and enjoy using a variety of found materials such as fragments from vintage books, maps, papers and letters to create a layered background to my pieces. My work is constantly evolving as I enjoy the exploration of new techniques, subject matter and the experience of expressing and creating. My current body of work uses mixed media materials to create the multidimensional layers of my underpainting.
