I am an independent silk artist based in Johns Creek, GA. I paint on natural silk using silk dyes and silk paints.
My paintings are unique as the materials used, the process, and the techniques are different than traditional fine art. The techniques include serti painting, freehand painting, batik, and sometimes shibori. Since the dyes bond with the silk fabric during the steaming process, there’s no stiff overlay on the silk. The colors are vibrant and luminous. The artwork is framed behind glass or gallery wrapped.
My work ranges from contemporary abstracts to modern representational art drawing inspiration from nature and my physical and social environs. I also have a special interest in creating hand-painted silk scarves/accessories, besides silk wall art.
