Color has always been my passion in my work. I love exploring colors and how they relate to each other. Lately, my curiosity has expanded to include composition. It is something that is pushed upon us in art school. We are always told to consider the composition, or to use a certain formula for our compositions. For years I internalized that to mean that I could not paint simple compositions.
Until recently, I had to prove the work’s value through a complicated or well organized composition. Something in me seemed to snap and I was tired of overthinking what I wanted and just start doing it. What has come out from this change in attitude is these pieces exploring color in a minimal and simplistic composition.
